Cavity Removal Without the Drill!!

Air abrasion is a drill-less technique that we use to remove early cavities and to perform other procedures.

How Does Air Abrasion Work?

During air abrasion, a pen-sized instrument is used to spray away cavities using a fine stream of very small, (27 micron), particles aimed directly at the cavity. These particles are made of aluminum oxide and are propelled toward the tooth surface by compressed air that runs through the pen-sized handpiece. The cavity inside the tooth disappears as the stream of abrasive particles strikes them. Think of air abrasion as a mini-sandblaster. It is very gentle and more importantly, painless. It is also extremely conservative and kind to the tooth as it allows us to save more of your healthy tooth structure.
