How Should You Prepare for a Dental Crown?

The First Visit

A dental X-ray will be taken during your initial visit to examine the damaged tooth and the surrounding bone tissue. You will be kept relaxed and pain-free by the dentist by administering an anesthetic close to the tooth.

During the second visit

The follow-up visit
The crown will be permanently attached at the follow-up appointment. The temporary crown will be removed by your dentist and a new crown will be fitted and inspected for fit and color. In order to remove any debris or flaws from the mount, your dentist will give you local anesthesia again and clean and refill it.
With the help of a special adhesive, the crown will now be positioned in its final location. The glue will be checked for fit and adhesion after 10-15 minutes, and excess glue will be removed.
Your dentist meticulously checks the new crown’s fit before declaring the procedure a success. It may be necessary to file the surface of the crown down in order to match your bite perfectly.
After the first follow-up appointment, the second appointment typically takes an hour or so.
